Megha Patel, MA is a Professional Clinical Counselor Intern with an enthusiasm for working with people of all ages and background. Megha is very compassionate, caring and empathetic, and strives to create a comfortable and welcoming environment by employing a non-judgmental and person-centered approach in therapy. She will work with you to create an individualized treatment plan using evidence-based methods that suit your unique needs. Megha is fluent in and provides therapy in Gujarati and Hindi. Megha also enjoys working with the LGBTQIA community and the Trans community.
Megha got her Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Illinois, and her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. She did her clinical internship at a federally approved mental health agency and provided services to victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, and people struggling with adjustment. She had the opportunity to work closely with the Southeast Asian community and provided mental health services in Hindi and Gujarati. Megha has also worked at a recovery center where she ran the intensive outpatient program and provided group and individual therapy to people struggling with addictions and substance use disorder. Before moving to San Diego, Megha worked at a private practice in Chicago working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, and provided both individual and group therapy. Currently, Megha is under the clinical supervision of Sue Boyd, LCSW, BCD.
Megha is currently a member of American Counseling Association (ACA).
