Jordan Danly, MA, LMFT
Jordan Danly, MA, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. She received her Master’s degree from The University of San Diego in August of 2013. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from The University of Pennsylvania in 2007 with a double major in Psychology and Sociology.
Jordan completed her marriage and family therapy traineeship at UCSD Outpatient Psychiatry where she gained experience working with individuals with severe mental illness including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, PTSD, and anxiety. In addition, she treated many individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and personality disorders. Jordan continued her career in outpatient mental health at the Douglas Young Wellness and Recovery Center where she has served as the lead adolescent and the lead adult clinician allowing her to work with individuals of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Jordan has received specialized training in trauma therapy (Seeking Safety), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Art Therapy, Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and crisis intervention. Moreover, she implemented Douglas Young Center’s first modified DBT program.
As a member of the PEP DBT team, Jordan provides comprehensive DBT to teens, adults, couples and families. DBT therapy is designed to assist people who have self-injurious behaviors, low impulse control, difficulty regulating intense emotions, eating disordered behavior, severe anxiety disorders, or frequent suicidal ideation. DBT also assists people who are having difficulty relating to and communicating in relationships effectively. Jordan completed Behavioral Tech’s DBT Foundational Training in 2016.
Jordan is excited to work with the LGBTQI community and provides gender therapy to transgender teens and adults. Moreover, she is a kink/poly-friendly therapist providing a non-judgmental, supportive environment for all relationships. Furthermore, Jordan is a member of the Personal Evolution Psychotherapy Gender consultation team.
Jordan creates a safe, warm therapeutic space that welcomes a collaborative therapeutic relationship. She believes that all individuals have the capacity for change and growth and she will help guide you towards finding meaning and creating a life worth living.
